POEM: LULLABY
by contemplativeinquiry
River stationed.
the damselfly
has stilled its wings,
blue lace folded
on a hunter’s slenderness.
Perch, slanted from their mouths,
speak to the surface an occasional O.
Lily pads are sunk and curled
by the river’s rub,
Papooses
nodding in the waterlight.
